ILIFE V3s Pro Review – Cleaning

The ILIFE V3s Pro is similar to the Housmile Robot Vacuum which uses a suction “nozzle” rather than a main roller brush to suck up dirt. For this reason, it performs the best on bare floors and low pile carpets. It doesn’t have a brush to agitate and lift dirt that has settled into thicker carpets.

Pet hair isn’t much of a challenge for this unit but its effectiveness is again limited to bare floors. If you just looking for a low priced cleaner for your pets it’s certainly worth taking a look, especially at this price. It might also make a great wedding gift for pet loving friends.

The ILIFE V3s is light and short, at 4.5 pounds and 3 inches respectively, making it easy to move around for spot cleaning. But it’s not light enough to feel cheap. It has a very sturdy profile. Or, if you don’t want to move it physically, just grab the remote and drive the unit over to a mess, simply from the comfort of your couch.

It does have two side brushes for grabbing pet hair stuck next to walls. It’s also quiet, easy to maintain, and will vacuum for around 100 minutes at a time.

ILIFE V3s Pro Review - Bottom Image

The ILIFE V3s uses what ILIFE calls AirAway technology. It has a double filter that they claim reduces clogging and allows the air flow to remain unobstructed.

Overall it’s a nicely built budget vacuum that will work its way around the floor quietly, sucking up any dirt and pet hair that comes within range. But it’s still a budget robot vacuum with budget vacuuming performance.

ILIFE V3s Pro Review – Navigation

The ILIFE V3s Pro is surprisingly good at working around obstacles considering the low price tag. It has an array of smart sensors that help it maneuver safely and easily around a room.

However, it does lack any resemblance to smart navigation. When the sensors detect an obstacle, it turns and heads off into a random direction. In an average size room with around 100 minutes of cleaning time it will cover just about every inch.

There isn’t any Wi-Fi smart phone control. The remote that comes with the unit has a “Clean” button for a quick start and manual steering buttons. You can also schedule cleanings with the remote.

ILIFE V3s Pro Review - Cleaning Modes Image

There are also buttons for both Spot and Wall cleaning modes. You can find more information about these modes on the Robot Vacuum Basics page.

Lastly, there’s a manual return to dock button. The ILIFE V3s does return automatically to the dock when the battery gets low however it often has trouble finding its way back.

ILIFE V3s Pro Review – Summary

The ILIFE V3s is really for the budget conscious just looking to keep bare floors free from pet hair. It’s well built, quieter than most, and easy to maintain.

However it really lacks any type of patterned navigation and its cleaning performance is what you should expect in a budget robot vacuum.  You probably won’t be disappointed as long as you keep your expectations in line with the price tag.
